So I wanted to do a post on video optimization for You Tube and figured it would be a nice idea to put it into context by using a random site. Today I picked Musca Law, a Miami attorney that specializes in DUI defense.
For all of you that do not know, You Tube is the third largest web site on the Internet and is owned by the number one website Google. There is a tremendous amount of opportunity for web sites to gain valuable Internet exposure and traffic from You Tube by performing search engine optimization for You Tube. Let’s talk about some of the best video optimization tips to do.
You Tube Keyword Discovery
Just like any SEO function, keyword discovery is a must. You Tube offers the same technology that Google does which is called search suggestion. What search suggestion does is to help you finish what you are typing in the search box so that you get to your results quicker. What this also does is give you great incite on what You Tube considers as popular terms and this gives you some good information on what to optimize a video for. So for my example I start to type “DUI” You Tube starts to give me suggestions with the first one being “DUI arrest”. So what does that mean? Well, it should mean is that the first video that the guys at Musca Law should develop is something like a video on what does a DUI arrest consist of and some tips on how to act after a DUI arrest.
Use Google Tools To Help You
So Google offers some really great tools as well. The two big ones I like to use are Wonder Wheel and Search Suggestion. These tools will give you even more fuel to see what other terms are out there that you can video SEO for. The key to all of this is to make sure you are developing a video strategy that is centered around top keywords in your industry or expertise. 
Max Out Your Tags
Use all the allowed space for titles, descriptions, and tags.
Titles should be about 100 characters.
Descriptions can include up to 5,000 characters, tags can be 120 characters. Make a goal to use every one of these limits for each of your videos.
You Tube suggests, “The more words you include in your description, the higher your chances of being discovered by searchers, which means the larger your audience can grow, and the more potential revenue you can earn.”
So that beings said, we will use our following example:
Title: Tips After A DUI Arrest – Miami, Florida DUI Attorney – Drunk Driving Defense – Muscovy Law
Description: A video on helpful tips after you have been arrested for possible DUI (driving under intoxication). This video will cover the basics of what a DUI arrest means to you and what you should do in order to give you the best chance of having the charges removed from your record. At Musco Law, we pride ourselves on specializing in drunk driving defense cases.
